The Jolly, Jolly Dancer

8 08 2010

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 😀 Yes, even I laughed my ass off as I typed the entry title.

Several weeks ago, some of my friends began taking hip-hop dance sessions (a healthy diversion for most, a career for one — yes, Tanya, this is you). Braving through the severe downpour and heavy traffic, last night, I joined them. And, boy, did I have a blast!

Not counting the usual head-bopping, feet-tapping, or body-swaying, I couldn’t recall the last time I danced with actual choreography, so this was practically new to me. Never mind that my legs and feet are now sore, I do feel satisfied and energized. (Big shout-out to Tanya for getting me into this, and to our instructor, Ronald, for bearing with our limited abilities. LOL!) And the fact that it’s a way to burn off these mother friggin’ layers of adipose makes me look forward to the next session with much anticipation.  That being said, I’m currently in search for good songs we may use. Haha! Excited much? 😉

Jolly Jolly Dancer in action.

I swear, I don’t look this rigid when I dance. The photo doesn’t exactly showcase my awesome skills. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 😀

The Violent Commuter

7 08 2010

A major pet peeve for me as a commuter is people who are inexplicably eager to transfer seats. I get that they’re being practical because descending from the bus could be quite a challenging chore especially if you’re seated way at the back and there are throngs of people overcrowding the aisle. But doing it at the expense of those who are actually alighting is downright inconsiderate and simply infuriating.

Would it pain you to wait for just a few seconds and let other people get off the bus first before you move your enormous butt to another seat? Could you not be an inconvenience? Could you be any more hateful?

Sometimes, I just wish I could muster all the spite, be vicious, and hurt you — shove you aside and hit your head with my bag as you secure your much coveted sweet spot.

Oh, wait. I just did. Last night. Wow. Suddenly, I’m relieved. Resentment begone!

The Blogging Renaissance

1 08 2010

I’m bringing writing back. I am. 🙂

After a five-month hiatus from the scene, I return with a renewed interest in blogging and well, life, in general. Not having an outlet is a killer. The thoughts are just too many and too loud to ignore, and there’s a lot of things I see that I want to speak about. My cellphone’s Drafts folder is getting too occupied with brain farts. Yes, Facebook and Twitter have been helpful for the most part, but they’re respective character limits (420 for Facebook and 140 for Twitter) can be a real bitch sometimes. They’re just not enough.

Also, my favorite jolly month is here. August is near and dear to me for obvious reasons. I just feel overjoyed and inspired at the moment. Some things are actually coming along. For one, I’ve finally begun writing my M.A. thesis. After which, some major decisions will have to be made but for now, I’m just going to enjoy the thrills of writing again. This renaissance is giving me joy.

It’s pretty exciting. It is. 😉
